  Years ago, we went to a restaurant called Scarlatto when it was on 43rd (?) Street and then somehow, we lost track of it.  A couple of nights ago, having seen a terrific play, Toni Stone, we walked west and came across Scarlatto.  Learning that it was the same management and chef, we went in and had a very solid, very good dinner, nice large portions, with extremely attentive service.  The new Scarlatto is roomy and light and the ambience is comfortable and very pleasant.
  
  I noticed in the reviews below, people complain about the prices, but if they knew what restaurants, especially in the theater district, are being charged by rapacious landlords -- we are talking about tens of thousands of dollars per month rent -- maybe they would be more sympathetic.  Everywhere I go in Manhattan, small businesses are disappearing....because of rent.  How many diners does a restaurant have to have to pay rent ?  Does every seat need to be filled every minute ?  I would guess so.
  
  And someone complained the food came out too quickly ? !   Do give me a break !  When people are going to theater, they are all in a rush.  This is the name of the game in this neighborhood.   How many times have I walked into a restaurant and said, "Can you get us out in an hour or less ?"  If you want a slow, leisurely meal, pick a slow, leisurely residential neighborhood, where no one assumes the clock is ticking.
  
  Now, in our case, we came after theater, so we were in no hurry, but we were, of course, quite hungry, so having our entrees arrive quickly after a delicious parsley and anchovy dip and excellent bread, a free amuse-bouche, was great....certainly not something to complain about.  Many dishes have to be prepared and almost ready to go or how could any restaurant manage.  Yelp reviewers need to think more about the business they are critiquing and they need to put themselves in the management's shoes, not just make childish comments.  
  
  We will certainly be back.

  Had a wonderful dinner here on Monday night. Used to go here alot, first time back since they relocated. Food is even better than I remembered.  Service was terrific. Definitely going to go again. Pasta dishes, bread, calamari,  anti pesto fabulous.

  We walked along Restaurant Row in Midtown looking for a place to have dinner prior to a Broadway show.  The white lights illuminating the outside of Scarlatto caught my eye and we decided to go for it.  We were quickly seated on a Sunday evening around 5:30.
  
  I immediately liked the warm, inviting feel of the dining area and service was phenomenal.  Our drinks were filled as needed and we were checked on quite frequently.
  
  I ordered the Carne del Giorno (chicken rollatini) from the specials menu.  The chicken was very tender and nicely filled with spinach and roasted peppers and easy on the cheese. The portion size was quite large.  My husband ordered Tagliato Di Manzo (strip steak) for dinner. He felt it was a decent American steak. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate cake, which was on the smaller side, but tasty.  It was my birthday and the waiter had the plate decorated with chocolate along with a candle.
  
  As with many of the restaurants around the Theater District, the prices are a bit high for the quality of the food.  You could probably get much better Italian food for a lot less in other parts of the city, but it's the tradeoff you pay for to be near the theaters.

  Such a great new restaurant!! We went on a Thursday night around 9 and the place was quiet -- so bizarre for such a prime location with SUCH GOOD FOOD!!! We started our meal with house pinot grigio and bread with parsley sauce, and everything else from there was just remarkable!
  Intimate, cozy little place with ADORABLE modern Italian decor. Perfect for dates -- not a good group location as it's not a huge place. Decently priced and just enough off the beaten path so you don't deal with too many tourists. Will return!!

  Food was acceptable.  What wasn't acceptable was assuming a table of 12 was on the same ticket.  This is 2019.  You should know better than to hand the table a single tab.  Your point of sale system should have a feature.  If you can deliver the food to the right seat, you can split a check too.
